The programme will target top science students from premier schools in Asia. To ensure that delegates benefit fully from the experience, the two science students representing your school should:
a. Be between 16 and 17 years of age as in Jan 2010;
b. Have substantial experience in science research or competitions;
c. Possess good oral proficiency in English;
d. Be academically able and among the top 5% of their cohort; and
e. Possess enthusiasm and strong interest in forging ties with fellow students from all over the world.
Selection criteria for the educator
The science educator will have a separate programme in addition to the main activities arranged for the students. He should be among the key personnel or senior educators in your school so that he can pass on his learning points to other educators more effectively. His role in the Forum will be more than that of a chaperone and he would be expected to draft an action plan during the forum that can be implemented upon his return.
To ensure that the educator benefits fully from the experience, he/she should:
a. Be proficient in English; and
b. Be a key or senior personnel in the position to implement teaching ideas or action plans in school.
